UKMT Senior Math Challenge Results

Today, Harrow Beijing delightedly announce the results of the UKMT Senior Mathematics Challenge 2021 which was administered on 11 November.

Among the 47 students from Year 9-13 who took part in the challenge, 37 students (78.72%) achieved a certificate. This is the highest percentage of students achieving a certificate since Harrow Beijing joined the UKMT Senior Mathematics Challenge.

The Senior Mathematical Challenge is a 90-minute, multiple-choice Challenge. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Senior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. The top scorers are invited to compete in the British Mathematical Olympiad.

Atom Y (Yr 9) would be one of the Top students if not the Top student in the world because he achieved 100% (125/125). Students who achieved the highest score in their year group are:

UKMT Senior Mathematics Challenge is for students who already learned high level mathematics (Yr 11 – Yr 13).  In this, a special mention to the following students in Year 9-10 who obtained Certificates:

Gold Certificate: Jason J (Yr 10), Amy T (Yr 9), Simon X (Yr 10), Jayden L (Yr 9)

Silver Certificate: Stephanie Q (Yr 9), Celine T (Yr 10)

The scores of Atom Y, Harrison Y, Tim G, Jerry C and Jason J qualified them for the British Mathematics Olympiad Round 1.  This competition was held on the 2nd of December 2021. We can’t wait to see the results!
