Lighting of the Tree

The year 2021 is coming to an end and the festive season is just around the corner. This week, Lower School students brought their well-prepared winter concerts to stage, parents were invited and as always, our students never failed to impress.

From Pre-Nursery to Year 5, students showed what they’ve learned and practiced in the month of November. PN-Y1 students in their winter themed costumes sung beautifully in chorus. Y2-3 were dancing and singing to some of the well-known winter songs.

With a little touch of creativity, Y4 used scarves to simulate a snow storm while Y5 students, dressed up as elves, presented a silent theatre skit inspired by silent movies and mime. Soloists successfully performed pieces of music on violin, cello and piano.

It is a season full of generosity, kindness and fellowship. Under the decorated pine tree, class representatives announced their class wishes before Mr Robin Dunhill, Head of Pre-Prep, lit the tree. Funds raised at these concerts will be given to Wanjian Village, Anhui to support their public library which will enrich the lives of the children in the village.
