Geography Field Trip
In September, Year 11 Geography students went out to the Mutianyu Great Wall for a field trip. With the theme of ‘Environmental Impact of Tourism on Mutianyu Great Wall’, they investigated the environmental impacts of tourism and learnt why it is important to protect historical landmarks.
Learning from Practical Work
Led by Upper School Head of Geography Ms Rachael Inns, the students collected a series of statistics, which they then used to complete their report for the IGCSE curriculum. The students were fully immersed in a blend of nature and humanity and certainly appreciated the unique charm of Chinese historical architecture and culture.
Cooperation and Development of Skills
The spirit of fellowship is deeply rooted in the educational philosophy of Harrow. The students completed the research together, developed academic skills through cooperation and in doing so not only made new friends but also firmed up old friendships.
