FOH
As Friends of Harrow, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made The H Market a success. Your smiles, laughter, and connections truly made this event special.
A special thanks to our dedicated volunteers—your hard work ensured everything ran smoothly. We also appreciate the talented students and teachers whose performances lit up the day, and our wonderful stallholders whose creativity enriched the flea market experience.
The funds raised will directly benefit future activities and community initiatives, helping us build a stronger Harrow family. We look forward to creating even more wonderful memories together at our next gathering. Thank you for your support—it fills our future with hope and warmth.
At Harrow Beijing, we not only have academically excellent students, responsible teachers, we also have versatile parents. The collaboration of all people is the cornerstone of the thriving Harrow Beijing community. They use their talent to contribute for the weekend event. They went from being serious teachers on the stage to being the main force of the music festival band; They become book students of business and stall owners in the welfare market; They went from parents to developers who worked hard to develop peripheral products for the school.
“I participated in the second unforgettable FoH event of the year – the Autumn Fair on Sunday, which was perfect for family outings. As soon as the kids entered, they were hooked on the stamp card activities and couldn’t stop collecting stamps for themselves and their mothers to play again. They also compared their lottery results with their friends and chatted with the smiling vendors in the autumn breeze about jewelry. Mothers enjoyed looking at the intricate handmade projects, strolled around the food stalls that offered a mix of Western and Eastern cuisine at reasonable prices, and then indulged in a feast of live music performances by students and teachers. As the sun began to set, the children reluctantly formed a long line to buy a balloon to take home, thus ending a delightful autumn weekend. Thank you, FoH, for creating another wonderful childhood memory for the kids.”

” Although we are returning to the cold Beijing, getting warm as I walked through the gates of Harrow Beijing. In fact, every child and parent who left the school had a deep emotional connection with Harrow. I remember one year when my daughter came home from school in the middle of the night, crying. Her classmate’s mother told me that her daughter, who was leaving the school at the same time, was also crying her eyes out… 。
And now my daughter has also left, but this time she didn’t cry because she said that when she left, the Headmaster and teachers told her, “Welcome back anytime. Harrow will always be your home.”
With her dream in mind, she flew to a country thousands of miles away, where there were challenges galore, a fact that everyone knew. It was a sacrifice to transfer schools at this age, but she didn’t fear. She adapted quite well, saying, “It’s the same system as Harrow, just without boys.” Indeed, you can make a better burger than McDonald’s, but you can’t replicate their system. Children set sail from here, and I know she won’t be bad…
I would like to express my gratitude to the FOH for their hard work in organizing this event. Having served as FOH for two years and as a parent representative for four years, I know firsthand the hard work and dedication that go into organizing large events. The atmosphere was warm and touching, and the event was meticulously designed. In particular, standing in the hall and seeing the designs of the old school uniforms, with their vibrant colors and imaginative touches, was particularly moving. Leaving that day, my daughter’s wardrobe contained the only ironed and neatly folded full set of Harrow uniforms – a suit, sportswear, purple and orange House T-shirts, a tie… All of these items carried memories of her growth, six years of not too long nor too short middle school life. She went upstairs and walked around the corridor, then met her headmaster, teachers, and classmates. Watching my daughter reminisce with her first English teacher about the shy girl who got a B- on her first test, it suddenly felt like a lifetime ago… 。
The daughter sent photos of the scene to her classmates on the other side of the Pacific Ocean. The children jokingly said that they no longer had to sneak back to Harrow, and they had agreed to return to Harrow for Christmas. Although scattered around the world, this is the place they can often return to when they come back to Beijing…”

“On a sunny Sunday morning, we pushed two large suitcases out the door with our children. They said it felt like a field trip, and they were in a good mood. That’s how we set out, supporting our child’s participation in the school’s charity sale and witnessing her contributing her meager efforts to Harrow Community through labor.
As I walked into the campus, I was immediately struck by the vibrant atmosphere. Stalls had already been set up along both sides of the road. After checking in, I wanted to head straight for the playground to help my child set up their stall. But as I walked past each stall, it was like a different scene at every step, and it was undoubtedly a great place to visit on the weekend. Not only my child, but even I, an adult, felt like I had wings and wanted to fly happily.
When we arrived at our flea market area, the booths were also starting to set up, some even already arranged neatly. We quickly set up our items to catch up with the progress. During this process, I noticed a girl with a well-organized and efficient manner. The children who seemed to move at a leisurely pace also displayed such behavior, surprising me and bringing me great joy. At this time, I also received a small gift. I was so happy! Before I could even thank her, the music started and the band filled the atmosphere with energy. We also welcomed our first donor, Mr. Peter Lynch. He loved our beautiful handicrafts and donated without hesitation. The children who were still adjusting the position of their items were surprised and delighted, gaining a huge boost in confidence. Thank you, Mr. Peter Lynch, for your generosity. We were also very happy that our beautiful handicrafts could bring joy to him.
Later on, more children and adults came to our stall. There must have been so many people coming and going, and the variety of items on our stall must have been overwhelming. My child was no exception, and she ran off to browse excitedly. So the adults chatted while keeping watch at the stall. Soon, a gentleman from the Lower School approached. He looked determinedly at the bookshelf on our stall and asked for the price. It was a bookshelf that my daughter had picked out and made last summer vacation. There were many small parts inside, and it was quite complicated to put together, but she meticulously assembled it in every minute. I knew she would be reluctant to part with it, but I believed that The Secret Garden would bring a different kind of reflection to its new owner, just like the story itself.
If there is a key, there must be a door!
A garden belongs to all.
There will be roses …
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to this LS gentleman for his dedication. I am sure that both the story and the craft brought him joy!
After making a round, the daughter adjusted the placement of the stones and the book “Rocks and Minerals” to the edge of the blanket so that the little kids could easily pick them up, showing great consideration. Soon a little sister came to pick up these gifts from nature, and the boy behind her, who looked like her brother, encouraged her: “Go ahead and pick whatever you like! I’ll pay for you!” We were touched by the kind brother and sister. Each stone cost 1 yuan, and they collected a total of 1.6 yuan. But the care and concern they showed truly warmed us. We also sincerely thank them for their patronage and contribution!
As a stall owner for a day, what impressed me most were the clear eyes and curious and focused gazes of the children as they passed by, as well as the love within their hearts.
We donated all the postcards of paintings we brought back from the UK this summer, participated in the event at the Blue Clothing Store, saw so many eye-catching exhibits, tasted authentic Pepperoni Pizza, and joined in the Conga Line… The day’s activities were also fulfilling. A small regret, we were too busy setting up our stall, and we didn’t have time to visit many other areas. It was already 4:00 PM and we had to pack up. Haha, but on the other hand, leaving some regrets means we will be looking forward to coming back next time. It was a very happy Sunday afternoon, thanks to all the organizers of FoH, and thanks to all the supporters and participants. Wishing all the best for our campus community!”

“This tribute to old school uniforms was so much fun! I put the skirt I wore when I first came to Harrow 2 years ago on my doll, and I realized how small I used to be! It brought back lots of wonderful memories of my time at Harrow. I love my old school uniform, and I loved this event! I love Harrow even more!”

“It is a great pleasure and honour to be part of this tribute to old school uniforms, which reminds me of myself as a small and curious person when I first came to Harrow ten years ago. In the ten years since I grew up here, I have written the four core values of Harrow on my old school uniform: courage, honor, humility and mutual help. I really enjoyed this event! I’m proud to be in Harrow! “
