Art Achievements

Art originates from rich inner worlds and flourishes through outstanding creativity. Harrow Beijing encourages the development of students’ artistic creativity, exploring and inspiring interests, constantly discovering their artistic potential. From Early Years to Upper School, Harrow Beijing integrates the cultivation of students’ comprehensive artistic literacy in various aspects of school curriculum and extracurricular activities, including arts and design, drama, music and more.

At the same time, Harrow Beijing provides students with a wide range of artistic practice opportunities. Our students have demonstrated outstanding artistic talents in both on-campus and off-campus art enrichment activities and competitions. For example, recently, in the secondary school art competition organized among Beijing International Schools, students from Harrow Beijing achieved impressive results. The Theme this year was “The Problems WE face”, and all students had to respond to this stimulus. The competition consisted of 6 schools, 92 artists, and 121 artworks. Harrow Beijing won a fantastic 6 awards, including creative use of colour, expressive use of materials, and 2 overall Top Art Awards.

“The inspiration for this competition entry comes from reflecting on women. Some constraints have deprived many women of the opportunity to “be themselves.” This undoubtedly creates an invisible cage that binds women’s bodies and souls. Women should not be bound. The heart breaking free from the cage represents the woman breaking free from her bondage.”
